Modern Mix San Diego

Modern Mix SD is a San Diego–based design studio specializing in handcrafted glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) pieces, high-end wooden pivot entry doors, and custom furniture. Each creation is made to order, blending modern design with timeless craftsmanship.

Rooted in German precision and inspired by California’s contemporary aesthetic, Modern Mix unites the sculptural depth of concrete with the warmth and artistry of fine woodwork. Our work transforms raw materials into refined forms — pieces that feel grounded, architectural, and enduring.

Every design is crafted locally with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that each project reflects the unique character of the space it inhabits. Whether it’s a statement entry door or a custom furniture piece, Modern Mix delivers a seamless fusion of form,
function, and modern luxury.

About Me

Hi, I’m Sebastian Erb, the founder and maker behind Modern Mix SD. Born from a lifelong passion for design, craftsmanship, and materials, Modern Mix is my way of blending artistry with function. I create handcrafted glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) pieces, high-end wooden pivot entry doors, and custom furniture that bring a natural yet modern aesthetic into every space.

With a background in high-end millwork and product design, and roots that trace back to German precision and craftsmanship, I built Modern Mix right here in San Diego, California, where every piece is made locally and to order. I believe great design should feel timeless — minimalist lines, honest materials, and textures that tell a story.

Each sink, vanity, or table starts as a raw idea in my workshop and is shaped by hand using the finest GFRC concrete and responsibly sourced wood. The result: durable, sculptural pieces that reflect a balance of warmth, structure, and individuality.

Modern Mix is more than a brand — it’s a creative pursuit to make everyday objects feel special. Every product that leaves the studio represents a blend of my German roots, California lifestyle, and a commitment to slow-made quality.
